HALF THE SKY is a book written by the award winning journalists Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn about the plight of women around the world in the 21st century. The principals of Freestyle are producing an accompanying PBS special that tells the stories of the individual women identified in the book that are used to highlight the issues being faced. For each woman’s story, a narrative short film and a documentary piece will be completed and combined into two two-hour specials, set to air in early 2012.
